Repair Outcome
Connector alignment matched better than expected while replacing the old component cause the buttons were no longer reacting correctly. Appliance has been running normally since then.

Replacement Observation
The control panel stopped responding randomly on our appliance ended up being caused by a failing part. Access was a little tight behind the panel and the replacement solved it.
